How it works
The rules,
in full.
What happens between typing your address and your first cut, and the rules we hold ourselves to once we’re mowing.
01 / From your address
How an estimate
is made.
You type your address.
We look up your lot in your county’s public records. St. Charles County and St. Louis County both publish them.
Two yard-fit questions.
Can a riding mower get into every area you want cut, and is any part of the yard too steep to mow safely? Records can’t see a gate or a slope. Some answers mean a person looks at the yard before anything is estimated.
If the county has no record.
You pick roughly how big the yard is instead, and the same first-visit rules apply.
If we don’t mow your street yet.
We say so, and you can join the waitlist for when your street opens.
Your estimate.
It appears on screen, with the most it can become at the first visit. A card on file books it, and each visit is charged after it’s done.
- 01
Your price is confirmed at your first visit.
Your estimate comes from your county’s public lot record. If the record is missing, you tell us roughly how big the yard is instead. Either way, at the first visit the yard itself is checked against the estimate before anything is cut.
- 02
At that visit it can’t go more than 40% above the estimate.
The cap applies to the first-visit confirmation. A later change to your price comes with advance notice, as our terms describe.
- 03
If your price changes at the first visit, you approve it before we cut. Decline and you owe nothing.
If the price holds as estimated, the visit goes ahead as booked. If it changes, nothing is cut until you approve it, and declining cancels that visit with nothing charged for it. On a recurring plan, ending the plan itself follows the three-cut rule below.
- 04
You’re charged for a cut only after it’s done.
A card on file is needed to book. It is saved at booking, not charged. Each visit is charged after it is completed. The only charges not tied to a finished cut are the two fees in our terms: $15 for cancelling inside 24 hours once a visit is scheduled and routed, and a one-time $25 if a recurring plan ends before its third completed cut.
- 05
When the cut is done, you’re told in the app, with a photo once it uploads.
The provider’s app asks for a photo before a visit can be marked complete. Your completion notice waits a while for that photo to upload; if it still hasn’t arrived, the notice goes out without it. Before-and-after photos of any visit are available on request.
- 06
Tips are optional, and 100% of tips go to the person on the mower.
A tip is added in full to the payout of the provider who did the visit. The card processor’s fee on a tip is paid by the business, not taken out of the tip.
- 07
No contract to sign. Recurring plans need three cuts to start; one-time mows don’t.
Cancel a recurring plan before its third completed cut and a one-time $25 early-termination fee applies. After the third cut, cancel any time with no fee. Skipping or rescheduling a visit with at least 24 hours’ notice is free.
03 / Who you’ll hear from
The owner mows.
E.L.M., our AI operator, runs the office: scheduling, estimates, messages and billing. It introduces itself when it first writes to you, and a person steps in when judgment is needed.
